Cut in an angular freeform, the Australian boulder opal—likely from Winton, Queensland—reveals natural bands flowing through the stone like layers of surf meeting shore.  Along the wider edge, warm potch inclusions resemble grains of sunlit sand beneath shallow water, grounding the opal's brilliance in the earth it came from.  Near the top, faint gypsum inclusions rest beneath the surface—not flaws, but quiet traces of nature's hand, formed over millennia.
