A Magical, Glowing Pair of Vintage Lightning Ridge Opal Dangle Earrings in Solid 14k Gold

When we call this pair of Australian opal drop earrings "magical," we mean it.  When viewed in the sunlight, the elongated Lightning Ridge dark opal rectangles glow mesmerizing colors of bright green and blue, like breathtaking beams of light—photos worth seeing at the end of the carousel.  Measuring an elegantly eye-catching 1.2 inches in length from the top of the 14k gold ball to the bottom of the bezel set dangle, these vintage 1980s–90s-Era opal inlay earrings are far from what's commonly seen today.

While the earrings have been professionally cleaned and polished, there is one remnant of their history that cannot be removed by a jeweler: an eye-visible crack that runs horizontally across the bottom third of one of the opals that does not appear to be naturally-occuring, near an inclusion of gray potch matrix that is naturally-occuring.
