Handcrafted from sterling silver by the talented Kansas City artist, Hailey Johnson, this opal doublet ring is truly one-of-a-kind. One of the earliest works from her near-decade of silversmithing, this 2010s era creation was a trial model for a custom engagement ring commission that she had received; several different hand-fabrication jewelry techniques were experimented with, including opal setting, bridgework, and nature-inspired leafed vine designs that scroll down the sides and bottom of the ring's shank.
This is not a piece for those seeking clean, production-level perfection. From visible file marks inside the ring's shank and on the outside of the leaf designs, to solder points, to noticeable inclusions in the opal doublet, this is a piece tailored for those who value the charm of and connection brought by small-scale, at-home American craftsmanship.
