Ike | Art Deco Rectangle Opal Ring in 10k Gold, Antique c.1920s

A classic Art Deco solitaire roughly dating back to the 1920s, this well-preserved antique find features a rectangle-shaped natural opal, presumedly from White Cliffs, Australia.  Soft, subtle greens flash across the opal's N9-white face; when viewing it from the appropriate angles under the right light, notable blues light up a quadrant of the stone, accompanied by reds and oranges that glow along the opal's edge.

Entering OpalPop's collection via a Burlington, Wisconsin collector, the ring's 10k gold composition and cast design suggest American manufacture.  Low-profile by design, the opal sits closely to the finger in four secure tab prongs.  Milgrain beading lines the four edges of the ring's decorative shoulders.

Several eye-visible cracks can be seen in the opal; these appear to be natural and not the result of damage or wear—regardless, the ring should be worn with care, being mindful to avoid impact to the stone.  Light signs of surface wear along the ring's shank and gallery are visible upon close inspection.
