A Bold Cirari Ethiopian Opal Ring with Carved Lapis Lazuli & Diamonds

Designed by the internationally recognized jewelry house Cirari, this substantial 14k yellow gold ring pairs vibrant Ethiopian opal with richly colored carved lapis lazuli in a composition that feels both architectural and timeless. Measuring approximately three-quarters of an inch across and weighing a substantial 7.24 grams, it offers confident presence while remaining refined enough for everyday wear.

At its center is a high-domed 3.03 carat round Ethiopian opal displaying rolling flashes of green and blue, accented by red overtones and warm orange undertones that emerge as the stone catches the light. The transparent opal is securely bezel mounted within the setting, allowing its color to remain the natural focal point of the design.

Rather than relying on a traditional diamond halo alone, Cirari frames the opal with two sculpted sections of deep royal-blue lapis lazuli balanced by two pavé diamond panels. The contrast between the saturated blue lapis, brilliant white diamonds, warm yellow gold, and luminous opal creates a distinctive palette rarely encountered in contemporary jewelry. Forty round brilliant cut diamonds add measured sparkle without competing for attention, allowing the colored gemstones to define the piece.

The ring is hallmarked “CJ” for Cirari Jewels alongside the opal’s documented 3.03 carat weight and its 14k gold purity. Its elevated center profile showcases the opal beautifully while also serving as a reminder to wear the ring with reasonable care, avoiding accidental contact against hard surfaces.

Acquired from a San Saba, Texas estate, this Cirari ring remains in outstanding vintage condition. A small mark near one shoulder of the shank is present and appears consistent with either careful lifetime wear or original finishing from manufacture. It does little to distract from an otherwise exceptionally well-preserved designer piece.

Care Note: Ethiopian opals are hydrophane and will absorb liquids, which can alter their color and clarity.  To keep this ring in pristine condition, it must be removed before washing hands, bathing, swimming, and applying hand sanitizer, lotions, or perfumes.
