Dainty Australian Opal Pendant by Navajo Artist, Chris Charley

Crafted sometime around the late 1990s and signed "CC" by Navajo artist, Chris Charley, this vintage Australian opal solitaire pendant softly shimmers between green and orange color play depending on the light; the white opal pops against the contrasting recessed design of the pendant, which has been thoughtfully antiqued by the artist to appear black for maximum effect.  Upon close inspection, the tip of the pear shaped opal is visibly chipped, something that likely occured at the time the opal was set.  Measuring just over an inch long from the top of the bail, this piece makes for a dainty keepsake of traditional American Southwest culture.

Original 20" sterling silver figaro-style chain included.
