A Handmade, Rustic Wood Men's Pendant Featuring a Mexican Cantera Matrix Opal

Bold yet understated, this unique fire opal men's pendant measures a sizable total length of 3.25 inches long (measuring from the top of its bail) by 1.4 inches wide.  Though large dimensionally, 2.75 inches of the piece's length are attributable to a piece of hand-carved wood, subtle in its dark, chocolate brown tone.

Featured bezel-set—suspended by a sterling silver rod that runs through the middle of a large, carved opening in the wood—floats a natural cantera matrix opal, a variety of fire opal from Mexico.  A transparent orange pocket of precious opal gleams with colors of green, blue, purple, and red depending on the light, encapsulated by a tan, volcanic rhyolite host rock.

A handmade piece with rustic, imperfect charm, the pendant was likely crafted by an American hobbyist practicing new techniques.  It was discovered in an Ocala, Florida estate; its silver carrying a natural grayish patina.

An 18" sterling silver box-style presentation chain is included.  Pairs best with a masculine cord or chain, such as rope or ball-style chain.
