A Multi-Tone Australian Opal Necklace on a 16" Chain with a Magnetic Clasp
Measuring a sizable 1.8 inches long from the top of its bail by 0.8 inch wide, this sterling silver solitaire pendant features a solid Australian opal that exhibits a distinct gradiant of black opal and dark opal body tones. The opal's blue play-of-color concentrates primarily over the darker N4-rated sections—N4 being the final classification of true black opal. To the left of this, N6 dark opal mottling is marbled through the opal, providing a unique visual contrast. Like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle or the country borders of a continent's map, natural jagged edges known as 'color bars' fit together, creating regimented sections beneath the opal's surface that light up with color independently of one another, depending on the angle of the viewer and light.

Sourced and imported from a private Taranaki, New Zealand collector, the pendant has been professionally polished since entering OpalPop's collection; minor eye-visible gouge marks remain in the pendant's bail, the remaining result of either wear or the pendant's original manufacture. The pendant's large size, in combination with the bail's 4.4mm wide opening, makes the piece a suitable unisex choice that can be enjoyed by men and women alike on its existing chain or a thicker option.
