Bright reds turn to yellow and green in this opal doublet ring.  The marquise cut stone is protectively bezel-set into its hefty sterling silver mounting.

Opal doublets are a man-assembled combination of a slice of natural Australian opal, backed by a black background—in the case of this ring, natural Australian ironstone matrix.  Because opal doublets are two pieces of material fused together, it is imperative that they are not exposed to moisture; over time, this can cause the opal to become permanently foggy.


If properly removed before washing hands, bathing, and applying hand sanitizers or lotions, it will maintain its appearance for many years to come.
