A Mid-Century Modern Australian Opal Ring with Diamond Accents

Dating back to around the 1950s to 1960s American Mid-Century era, this high-profile opal and diamond ring features tall domed design.  Right through the middle of this shining 14k yellow gold dome runs a valley holding a natural white Australian opal, accented to each the north and south by three round brilliant cut diamonds; the six diamonds in total weigh an estimated combined total of 0.12ct, providing just enough flash to elevate the piece without distracting from the Modernist aesthetic.

Reminiscent of the rings that many moms of Gen X would wear, the vintage mounting rises just one-quarter of an inch off of the finger.  Discovered in the collection of a Superior, Wisconsin estate jewelry dealer, the piece has since undergone full professional refurbishment under OpalPop's care—the ring has been cleaned, the stones have been tightened, and the surface of the 14k gold has been returned to its original mirror-like high polish.
