An Estate Natural White Crystal Opal Necklace

Cameras do the Australian opal in this necklace little justice- brilliant pinkish reds play brightly, especially in the sunlight.  The necklace itself is an oddity; though incorrectly stamped "925" on the back of the bail, indicating sterling silver, the piece is actually a high-karat gold plated base metal, instead.  Why this setting was chosen for a natural opal of this particular quality by the original owner is an unknown mystery.  18 inch gold plated curb link chain is included.
