A Solid Gold Pair of Vintage, Non-Pierced Semi-Hoops with Crystal Opals & Coral

A beachy take on the classic opal semi-hoop, this vintage 1980s to 1990s-era find features an alternating design of prong-set Australian crystal opals and pink coral cabochons.  Each earring holds six stones, beginning with an opal at the top of the design and ending with coral at the bottom; the transparent opals gently play with green flashes of color when viewed in the sunlight, accompanied by subtle blue undertones.

These semi-hoops are not small pieces—measuring a prominent 1" in total length and weighing a combined total of 4.42 grams, they can be described as reasonably substantial.  Their hefty weight can be attributed in part to their non-pierced screw back fittings, a solid component that allows the pair to be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of whether their ears are pierced or not.

Originally purchased by OpalPop from the Kennesaw, Georgia office of the American Cancer Society, the earrings have since been professionally cleaned, polished, and checked by our Southern California partner.
