A Rescued & Refurbished Opal Doublet Solitaire Ring

Something inexplicably alluring led us to give this estate Australian opal doublet ring a second chance—intended for refinery and rescued from an El Segundo, California pawnshop's scrap sterling silver pile, the ring has been given the full OpalPop treatment: our Anaheim-based jeweler tightened the opal, lightly polished the heaviest wear from its surface, and both cleaned and polished the crude-yet-delicate split-shank mounting.

Its enhanced N3 body tone giving the deep blue appearance of lapis lazuli, the horizontally-set opal doublet shows subtle, minute flashes of blue play-of-color when viewed closely under bright light; otherwise, its appearance is static and solid.  Though lightly polished during the refurbishment process, the stone's surface still shows plenty of age in the form of dulled scratches, the result of its unknown former owner.  This ring is best for those who appreciate estate pieces with imperfect, lived-in charm.
