A Dainty, Vintage Australian Opal & Diamond Ring with Bright Green Flashes

Ideal for those with petite hands seeking a natural Australian opal engagement ring that's elegant without being too loud (or simply something delicate and unique to add to their jewelry box), this dainty vintage estate find from Brenham, Texas features a Coober Pedy-sourced opal with eye-catching green flashes, mounted in solid 10k yellow gold between two round diamond accents.

The ring's asymmetric design combines a traditional solid shank on one side, and an open split-shank on the other.  Likely crafted in the 1990s—a time when 10k gold gained popularity for its budget-friendly durability and Australian opals were still more widely available than the plentiful Ethiopian opals of today—the ring shows mild wear along the sides and bottoms of its shank.  This has been hand-polished to reduce its appearance.
