A Louisiana Matrix Opal Pendant with Subtle Green-Blue Color Play and More

Not commonly seen in the jewelry industry, this sterling silver pendant features a Louisiana matrix opal—a variety of precious opal that forms in a yellowish to greenish American sandstone matrix.  This parituclar specimen shows occasional, hidden flashes of green, blue, and purple under our camera; while still subtle, these colors are more apparent when viewing the piece in-person, as are the delicate flashes of orange and red seen when inspecting the stone under a bright light.

Measuring just under 1.4 inches in total length from the top of the bail to the bottom of the rope design that surrounds the bezel by under half of an inch wide, the piece is dainty—but its masculine design makes the piece a safe choice for both male and female collectors seeking a piece of American opal jewelry.
